Welcome to Lincs2Stage! This project was set up in September 2009 in conjunction with the Lincolnshire School Improvement Service. This project is like no other.
Lincs2Stage is for students from the ages of 11 to 14 (Years 7 to 9), the project turns a group of up to fifteen students into a full theatre company. Each student fills a role which relates to any professional theatre company.
These roles include Artistic Director, Theatre Writers, Stage Management and Design Teams.
The students are offered advice and workshops from seasoned professionals who train the whole group in every area of technical and devised theatre. Common workshops include Advanced Theatre Directing, Set Design, Lighting Design and Writing for Stage. The students are also offered trips to professional venues and theatre productions, including half term workshops run by Upstage Left and the chance to become involved with Upstage Left's professional three show a year season through rehearsal and performance.
The Lincs2Stage pilot project is currently underway, with students from Cherry Willingham Community School and will complete in June 2010 with a performance created entirely by the students at the School Improvement Serivce's 'The Event - Talent Lincolnshire'. Visit Upstage Left Theatre Company for more information about the company. |
