Testimonials

Arts & Cultural Sector Officer, City of Lincoln Council

We have been working with the writers and directors from Upstage Left for just under a year now, and really support the work that they do. It is great to be able to work with and help promote a local theatre company who are enthusiastic about trying out new ideas, taking the boundaries of theatre further and encouraging new writing as well as ensuring that they put Lincolnshire on the map for its quality performances. For 2009, there will be three performances at the Lincoln Book Festival as well as workshops and we are really excited and pleased that they now play a central and active part in Lincoln’s arts sector’

Upstage Left Theatre Company is a Lincoln based new writing theatre company which performed its first piece, The Nurse Who Loved Me, here at Lincoln Drill Hall in November 2008. The company is committed to presenting new work in and around Lincoln and continues to have a strong relationship with the Drill Hall where the company will be performing again in the future.

Julie Catterson
Manager, Bishop Greaves Theatre

A newly created local theatre company, Upstage Left staged two nights performance of 'howwedie' at the Bishop Greaves Theatre as part of the Lincoln Book Festival. They took on a challenging subject matter which was well cast and delivered with sensitivity. The thoroughly modern performance made good use of multi-media which reached out to, and explored, the internet culture of today's society. With the recent establishment of their 'Writer's Collective' I'm really looking forward to seeing the projects from Upstage Left develop over the coming season. It is great to see fresh new work and ideas.
